Student Recruitment
Student Chapter Formation
Forty student chapters are presently recognized by CMAA. The student chapter must be hosted by a Regional Chapter in order to be considered an official student chapter of CMAA. The student chapter formation process can be instituted by a college/university or by a Regional Chapter.
All members of student chapters must also be student members of CMAA National. Undergraduate students may join CMAA National as a student member with proof of full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours) student status. Graduate students may join CMAA as a student member with proof of full-time (minimum of six credit hours) student status. Part-time students may join CMAA as a CMIT member or as one of the other available member categories.
The Student Chapter Manual provides the necessary information for a college or university to form a student chapter. Application materials are available here. The mandatory yearly reports required of all CMAA Student Chapters in reporting to their respective Host Regional Chapter and National will be made available once the Student Chapter is formed.

The Application is reviewed by the Regional Chapter Committee and a host regional chapter is assigned by staff. The Regional Chapter will provide the primary interface with the student chapter. Contact Martha Montague (336-492-6028) for information and details on the application process.
